Gary L. Hobbs

Gary was born in Vanceburg, Ky. April 3, 1950 to the late Wilford and Opal Mae McCleese Hobbs. In his earlier years he was a deck hand for Ashland Oil Company on the Ohio River as well as being a maintenance man for Gilberts' Car Wash. He also worked for Thomas Sawmill. He was a member of the Vanceburg United Methodist Church.
Preceded him in death beside his parents was his wife Bonnie Rickett Hobbs in 2007. 3-brothers- Virgil Hobbs, Ralph Hobbs, and Roy Gene Hobbs, a half-sister- Pauline Collier and a half-brother- Kendall Hobbs.
Surviving is one step-son- Timmy Dewayne Rickett of Vanceburg, Ky.
5-Brothers- Roger Hobbs of Aberdeen, Ohio, Jack Hobbs, Kenneth Hobbs, William Hobbs, and James Hobbs all of Vanceburg, Ky.
3-Sisters- Darlene Hobbs Barker of Bucyrus, Ohio, Marlene Sue Williamson and Nancy Mae Carrington both of Vanceburg, Ky.
Also several nieces and nephews survive that will sadly mourn his passing.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 1:00PM at the Gaydos Funeral Home with Pastor Janis Barton officiating. Burial will follow in the Lewis County Memory Gardens Black Oak, Ky.
Friends may call from 5-8 PM Wednesday and from 8:00am until time of services Thursday at the Gaydos Funeral Home.
