Pauline Knell

Pauline KnellPauline Knell, Age 64, of Vanceburg, Kentucky passed away Sunday August 5, 2012 at the Grant Medical Center, Columbus, Ohio following an extended illness.

Pauline was born in Carter County, Ky. August 1, 1948 to the late Harvey & Hazel Parson Davis. Pauline attended the Vanceburg Christian Baptist Church and also was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death beside her parents by her husband Ralph Eugene Knell in 2003. One brother- David Crockett Davis.

Surviving is a daughter- Tammy (David) Cooley of Vanceburg, Ky.

3-Sons- Danny R. (Vonda) Knell of Ft. Bliss, Texas, Tony W. Knell and Darin S. Knell both of Vanceburg, Ky.

1-Brother- Douglas Davis of Laurel, Ky.

2-Sisters- Debra Faye Jordan and Sarah Jane Pierce both of Vanceburg, Ky.

Six grandsons-Chris Knell, Anthony Knell, Joshua Cooley, Derek Knell, Johnny Wireman, and Shaun Wireman.

2-Granddaughters- Sheena Cooley Ford and Chrystal Bonifield.

Four great-grandsons- Ethan Knell, Matthew Wireman, Zachary and Dylan Bonifield.

3-Great-granddaughters- Trinity Knell, Brooke and Paige Bonifield.

Funeral services will be Friday August 10, 2012 at 11:00am at the Gaydos Funeral Home with Pastor Carl Wells officiating. Burial will follow at the Hamilton-Mawk Cemetery Tar Fork, Ky.

Friends may call from 5-9pm Thursday and from 8:00am until time of services Friday at the Gaydos Funeral home.

Mary Catherine Vice

Mary Catherine Vice Age 92 passed away peacefully Sunday August 5, 2012 at 3:15 pm at the Golden Living Center of Vanceburg.

Ms. Vice was born in Garrison, Kentucky May 28, 1920 to the late Thomas and Mattie Conley Stafford.

In her earlier years she was a waitress for the Vanceburg Inn/ Grey Hound Bus Station also waitress for the Century House Restaurant and The Queens Table here in Vanceburg. Later in her life she was a school cook for Lewis County School system.

Preceded in death beside her parents were 3-daughters- Vickie Kay, Brenda Joyce, and Carolyn Sue. 3-sisters- Margaret Cooper, Doris Vandergriff, and Imogene Wiley, and 2-brothers- Clyde Stafford and Aaron Stafford.

Surviving is a daughter- Cathy (Eddie) Henderson of Tollesboro, Ky.

One son- Martin Steve (Susan) Vice of Vanceburg, Ky.

One sister- Christine Ash of Vanceburg, Ky.

2-grandchildren- Kellie Proffitt and Mylie Vice and 2-great-grandchildren- Abbie Proffitt and Samantha Proffitt.

Funeral services will be Wednesday August 8, 2012 at 1:00pm at the Gaydos Funeral Home with Brother Tom Cox Jr. officiating. Burial will folow in the Lewis County Memory Gardens Black Oak, Ky.

Charles David Campbell

Charles David CampbellCharles David Campbell of Concord, Kentucky,Age 74, passed away peacefully with his family by his side early Saturday morning July 28, 2012 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center Lexington, Kentucky.

Charley was born in Dayton, Ohio November 14, 1937 to the late Harry & Edith Whitesell Campbell. Charley being a long time resident of Lewis County worked in various artistic media. He was a loving husband, father, & grandfather. He loved to sketch daily, and read westerns along with working crossword puzzles.

Charley was a graduate of Dayton Art Institute in Dayton, Ohio. Was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, and a member of the Lewis County Theatre Guild.

Surviving is his wife of 40 years Carol Loehle Campbell whom he married August 14, 1971.

Two daughters- Genny (Greg) Jenkins of Morehead, Kentucky, Sarah Campbell and her husband Brad Cross of Dry Ridge, Kentucky.

3-Sons- Adam (Shannon) Campbell, John (Meica) Campbell both of Berea, Kentucky. David (Cora) Campbell of Versailles, Kentucky.

20 Grandchildren also survive.

3-Sisters- Colette (John) Speranza of Dayton, Ohio, Sue (Wally) Gerienger of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, and Sister Patricia Campbell of Oldenburg, Indiana.

3-Brothers- Gene (Lorraine) Campbell of Huntington, Utah, Jerry (Pauline) Campbell Glendale, Arizona, and Bill (Ruth) Campbell of Palm Harbor, Florida.

Preceded in death beside his parents were eight siblings.

The family will receive friends and relatives Tuesday from 4 to 7pm at the Vanceburg Lions Club on Fairlane Drive Vanceburg, Ky.

Edward Lundquist

Edward Lundquist Age 69 of the Golden Living Center of Vanceburg, passed away Sunday July 22, 2012 at 6:57 pm at Grant/Riverside Methodist Hospital Columbus, Ohio after an extended illness.

Mr. Lundquist was born in Covington, Kentucky November 17, 1942 to the late Edward George & Marion Wykce Lundquist. He was a painter by trade and also drove a cab in the Cincinnati area.

Surviving is a son Edward Lundquist of Sand Point, Idaho

2-Sisters- Mary Jo Waln of Leesburg, Ohio and Billie Jean Menefe of Virginia Beach, Virginia.

A memorial service will be held later at the convience of the family.

Nancy Lee Barris

Nancy Lee Barris Age 45 of Portsmouth, Ohio passed away Friday morning July 27, 2012 at Southern Ohio Medical Center Portsmouth, Ohio.

Ms. Barris was born in Portsmouth, Ohio December 3, 1966 to James B. Withrow of Richmond, Ky. and Linda Caseman of Portsmouth, Ohio. She managed Golden Gate Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada prior to returning to Portsmouth. She loved the outdoors which included fishing and gardening. She was very outgoing and loved talking with friends and family.

Surviving beside her parents are 2-sons- Julian Lee Barris & Jacob Kenneth Marion both of Las Vegas, Nevada.

1-Brother- Jimmy Withrow of Milton, Ky.

2-Half-Sisters- Dreama Withrow Leroy and Becky Withrow both of Campbellsville, Ky.

Special Friend-David Price-Portsmouth, Ohio

2-Nephews- Jaye Withrow and Christian Withrow and a niece Madeline Withrow.

Several cousins and relatives will sadly miss her.

Friends may call from 3-6 pm Monday at the Gaydos Funeral Home Vanceburg, Ky.

Funeral services will be at 6:00PM Monday with Rev. Rodney Scott officiating.

Namen Lynn McCane

NamenNamen Lynn McCane Age 22 of Vanceburg, Kentucky died Monday July 16, 2012 in Mancelona, Michigan.

Namen was born October 1, 1989 in Portsmouth, Ohio to Dallas McCane & Regina Colegrove of Vanceburg, Ky.

He loved the outdoors and was a consruction worker for various companies.

He was of the Christian Faith. Attended I'll Talk for Jesus Pentecostal Church on Rock Run.

Surviving is his wife whom he married July 31, 2010 Kourtni Meighen McCane. A step-son- Zacharia Ramsey Meighen of Michigan.

His father Dallas McCane & companion- Marlene Thurman of Vanceburg

His mother Regina Colegrove of Vanceburg,

1-Brother- Richard Lee (Katelyn) McCane of Vanceburg, Ky.

2-Sisters- Rachael Thurman and her companion Paul Wright of Olive Hill, Ky.

Robin (Stacy) Thompson of Louisa, Ky.

4-Nephews- Taylor, Tyler, Cody, and Quentin Howard,and 4-neices- Stella Thurman, Ellie Thurman, Tessa Thompson, and Tabitha Thompson. He leaves a host of friends and family that will sadly mourn his passing.

Funeral services will be Tuesday July 24 at 11:00am at the Gaydos Funeral Home with Brother Tony Corns officiating. Burial will be in the Evans Cemetery Vanceburg, Ky.
