AD Blevins Age 89 of the Golden Living Center of Vanceburg went to be with his Lord Tuesday February 7, 2012 at 3:05 am with his family by his side after an extended illness.

Mr. Blevins was born in Lewis County, Ky. December 22, 1922 to the late Millard & Nellie Jarvis Blevins. He was a heavy equipment operator for the State of Kentucky for 8 years and for Carey Construction Company. He also was a Kentucky Colonel. He attended the Bivens Chapel Church Garrison, Ky.

surviving is his wife of 39 years whom he married August 12, 1972 in Lewis County Nellie Skidmore Patton Blevins.

1-son- Michael Patton of Vanceburg, Ky.

4-daughters- Mary Christy- Garrison, Ky., Linda Sue Calvert, Rebecca Carpenter, and Cindy Rowe all of Vanceburg, Ky.

1-brother- Ira Blevins of Tollesboro, Ky.

1- sister - Ellie Eulett of Mansfield, Ohio.

11-grandchildren and several great-grandchildren also survive.

preceded in death beside his parents was his 1st wife - Lillie May Stone Blevins and a son Terry Lee Patton. also 6- brothers- Louis Blevins, Raymond Blevins, Willis Blevins, Herbert Blevins, Willard Blevins, and Ivan Blevins and 2-sisters- Susie Cottingham and Bertie Flannigan.

Funeral services will be Friday at 1:00 pm at the Bivens Chapel Church in Garrison, Ky. with Reverend Wilma Erwin and Pastor Chris Lawhun officiating. Burial will be in the Vergne Cemetery Camp Dix, Ky.

Friends may call from 5-8pm Thursday and from 11:00am until time of services Friday at the Bivens Chapel Church Garrison, Kentucky.
