Mr. Arthur (Bud) Cooper, Age 73, of Vanceburg, Kentucky passed away with his family by his side Sunday July 23^rd, 2017 at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center Columbus, Ohio after an extended illness. Bud was born in Vanceburg, Kentucky August 3^rd, 1943 to the late Bruce Raymond and Mildred Collins Cooper. Bud worked for U.S. Shoe here in Vanceburg as a maintenance man until his retirement. Bud was a very selfless man in which he gave his time and helping hand to anyone that needed it. He enjoyed spending time with his family and loved to go hunting and fishing.

Bud was saved on June 15, 2017 before going in for open heart surgery.

 

Surviving Bud is his life long companion of 40 years Laura Tolle of Vanceburg, Ky.

Two daughters- Stephanie Stamper (Josh Kirkpatrick) of Garrison, Ky.; Joyce Stone of Portsmouth, Ohio.

One step-daughter- Kim (George) Crawford of Vanceburg, Ky.

Two sons- Michael (Becky) Cooper of Flemingsburg, Ky.; Donnie Cooper of Portsmouth, Ohio.

14-grandchildren and 10-great-grandchildren.

Seven sisters- Connie (Arlen) Butler, Brenda (Don) Fogleman, and Linda (Jim) Hester all of Vanceburg, Ky.

Sharon (Bill) Hause – Brooksville, Ky.; Betty (Tony) Francisco – Circleville, Ohio; Sandy (Charlie) Rigdon South Shore, Ky.; and Beverly (Clyde) King of Port Saint Lucie, Florida.

Two very close friends Bill Justice and Charlie Mineer.

 

Preceded in death beside his parents was a step-daughter- Lisa Gail Toller a step-son- Walter Douglas Toller Jr., Two sisters- Bonnie Pugh and Nella Mae Ruggles. Two grandchildren- Corey Douglas Ginn and one stillborn.

 

Funeral services will be Thursday July 27^th, 2017 at 11:00 am at the Gaydos Funeral Home 159 2^nd Street Vanceburg, Ky. 41179 with Brother Clarence Hall officiating. Burial will follow in the Lewis County Memory Gardens Black Oak, Ky.

 

Vistation will be Wednesday July 26^th from 5-8 pm and from 8:00am until time of services Thursday at the Gaydos Funeral Home.

Pallbearers for Arthur Bud Cooper will be Josh Kirkpatrick,, Michael Cooper, Elijah Cooper, Donnie Cooper, Brandon Cooper, George Crawford, Josh Crawford, and Bill Justice.

 

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Gaydos Funeral Home to help defray funeral expenses.
