Mr. Aubrey L. Ruggles, Age 78, of Tollesboro, Kentucky passed away Friday January 5^th, 2018 at the V.A. Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky after an extended illness. Aubrey was born in Ribolt Kentucky June 28, 1939 to the late George Thomas and Mildred May Ruggles.

 

Aubrey was a lifelong farmer and was manager for the Maysville Independent Warehouse and the Eastern Ky. Tobacco Warehouse in Morehead, Ky. His hobbies included raising a garden and playing dominoes, cornhole and rook. Aubrey was the last surviving member of the Gospel group the Bethel Trio. He was a member of the Bethel Community Church. He was a United States Army Veteran which he so proudly served. Was a graduate of Tollesboro High School Class of 1957. Aubrey loved his grandchildren and adored his great grandchildren.

 

Surviving Aubrey is his wife of 39 years whom he married in 1978 Thelma Moore Ruggles of Tollesboro, Ky.

Three daughters- Tammy Lynn Ruggles of Tollesboro, Ky.; Malena Ruggles of Maysville, Ky.; and Angela Howard and her husband (Jeff) of Mt. Sterling, Ky.

Four sons- Rex Ruggles and his wife (Paula); Gordon Ruggles and his companion (Tracy) (Applegate); Marty Ruggles and his wife (Connie) and Aubrey Ray (Bub) Ruggles all of Tollesboro, Ky.

Step-son- Charles Butler and his wife (Patty) of Vanceburg, Ky.

Step-daughter- Karen Ammiott of Mt. Orab, Ohio.

Brother- Donald Ruggles of Tollesboro, Ky.

Sister- Bonnie Walters and her husband (Ben) of Sharpsburg, Ky.

Half-brother- George Thomas Ruggles Jr. of Danville, Ky.

Several grandchildren and great grandchildren also survive who will mourn his passing.

 

Preceded in death beside his parents were two sons- Darren Joe Ruggles and a son in infancy Gene Lee Ruggles, one sister- Carol Doyle and a brother Larry Ruggles

 

Funeral services will be Monday January 8^th, 2018 at 1:00pm at the Gaydos Funeral Home 159 2^nd street Vanceburg, Ky. 41179 with Brother Kevin Applegate officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethel Cemetery Ribolt, Ky.

 

Visitation will be Monday from 11:00am until time of services at the funeral home.

Military graveside rites will be accorded by the V.F.W. Post 5438 Monte Lewis Stamm Vanceburg, Ky.

 

Pallbearers for Aubrey L. Ruggles will be Jeff Howard, Austin Ferrell, Jonathon Ruggles, Dylan Ruggles, Todd Wisecup, and Mike Ruggles. Honorary pallbearers will be Zane and Zach Ruggles. Condolences may be left at www.gaydosfh.com.
