Barbara Sharon Hughes

Ms. Barbara S. Hughes, Age 76, of Vanceburg, Kentucky passed away Saturday December 23, 2023 with her family by her side at the Hospice of Hope Care Center in Maysville, Kentucky.

Barbara was born March 27, 1947 in Black Oak, Kentucky to the late Burdick and Catherine Ruark Hughes. She loved working puzzles, and she was good at playing Jacks. She also loved watching westerns on TV. She also loved being with her family.

Surviving are Three sisters Wanda Edington of Black Oak, Kentucky, Kaye Barbour of Maysville, Kentucky, and Brenda Rand of Cincinnati, Ohio. One Brother Doug (Marianne) Hughes of Vanceburg, Kentucky. She is also survived by several sisters and brother’s in-law and nieces and nephews whom will mourn her passing.

Preceded in death beside her parents were brothers Meredith Hughes, George Hughes, William Burdick Hughes, and Ron Hughes. Sisters Ethel Sullivan, and Juanita Johnson.

Services will be Thursday December 28, 2023 at Noon at the Gaydos Funeral Home 159 second street Vanceburg, Kentucky 41179. With Brother Danny Bentley officiating. Burial will follow at the Old Black Oak Cemetery, in Black Oak, Kentucky.

Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services on December 28, 2023 at the Gaydos Funeral Home.
