Mr. Calvin E. Chatman, Age 84, of Garrison, Kentucky passed away at his home surrounded by his family December 26, 2022 after an extended illness.
Calvin, was born in Lewis County, Kentucky August 30, 1938 to the late Riley and Abby Martin Chatman. Calvin worked for the C&O Railroad and the CSX Railroad for 48 years. He also worked for the Bertram Lumber Company. He loved being outdoors gardening and especially going fishing with his son Eugene. Calvin was a member of the Vanceburg Church of God.
Left to cherish his memories is his wife of 58 years whom he married December 11, 1964 Joyce Wilburn Chatman.
One son- Eugene and his wife (Andria) Chatman of Firebrick, Kentucky.
One grandson- Calvin J.C. Chatman of Firebrick, Kentucky.
Half-sister- Alice.
Preceded in death beside his parents was a twin brother- Alvin Chatman, an uncle who raised him Alvin) (Windy) Chatman, half-brother- Keith Chatman, and grandmother Rebecca Chatman.
Funeral services will be held Friday December 30, 2022 at 11:00 am at the Gaydos Funeral Home 159 2nd street Vanceburg, Kentucky. Burial will follow in the Black Oak, cemetery Black Oak, Kentucky.
Visitation will be Thursday December 29, 2022 from 6-8 pm and from 9:00 am until time of services at the funeral home.
Pallbearers for Mr. Calvin E. Chatman will be Jerry Wilburn, Jeremy Wilburn, Danny Chatman, Ricky Chatman, Vaughn Dyer, and Bondi Dyer.
