Carla Burriss Obituary
Mrs. Carla J. Burriss, Age 67, of Vanceburg, Kentucky passed away peacefully with her family by her side Thursday February 4, 2021 at the Southern Ohio Medical Hospice Center in Portsmouth, Ohio after an extended illness.
Carla was born in Portsmouth, Ohio December 14th, 1953 to the late Vernon and Juanita Christy Adkins.
Carla worked as a supervisor in Georgetown, Kentucky. Carla Loved Larry, her family and her many fur babies that were a big part of her life over the years. She enjoyed going to yard sales and watching old westerns with Larry. Carla was a graduate of Lewis County High School Class of 1971.
Carla was infamous with those who knew her well for marching to the beat of her own drum and living life her way.
Left to cherish Carla’s memories is her husband of 47 years is her husband Larry Burriss of Garrison, Ky.
One sister- Tammy (Tom) Oakley of Indianapolis, Indiana.
Step-father Allard Lawson and step-sister- Tammy (Fred) Nelson both of Wheelersburg, Ohio.
Also, several nieces and nephews survive who will mourn her passing.
Preceded in death beside her parents were two sisters- Barbara Underwood and Susan McCleese.
Graveside services will be held Monday February 8, 2021 at the Waring cemetery Garrison, Kentucky with Brother Wes Cooper officiating.
Visitation will be Monday February 8, 2021 from 10:00am until 11:30 am at the Gaydos Funeral Home 159 2nd Street Vanceburg, Kentucky 41179.
Pallbearers for Carla J. Burriss will be Jack McCleese, Tom Oakley, Zane Willis, Joshua Underwood, William McCleese, and Tim Madden.
