Chester A. Caldwell, Age 81, of Tollesboro, Ky. passed away Sunday September 24, 2023 with his family by his side after an extended illness.
Chester, was born in Garrison, Ky. February 15, 1942 to the late Chester and Ethel Miller Caldwell. Chester was a member of the Plumber & Pipe Fitter Union Local 577 Portsmouth, Ohio since 1969. He loved building things, mowing his yard and enjoyed sitting on his front porch. He also liked watching WWF on TV.
Left to cherish Chester’s memories is his wife of 34 years whom he married July 22, 1989 Brenda D. Fite Caldwell of Tollesboro, Ky.
Four daughters- Lisa McMahon of West Portsmouth, Ohio; Teresa (Kevin) Callahan of Vanceburg, Ky. Michelle Bate and (Stefan Greene) of Portsmouth, Ohio, and Elizabeth Bate of Apex, North Carolina.
Sisters- Marge Everman- Portsmouth, Ohio, Donna Ruckel of Vanceburg, Ky., Kathy (Keith) Wright and Jeannie (Chuck) Gordon both of Florida.
Two brothers- Dwight Adams of Vanceburg, Ky., and Roger (Kathy) Caldwell of Garrison, Ky.
8-grandsons, 1-granddaughter, 9-great-grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews who will mourn his passing.
Preceded in death beside his parents was a grandson- Mike McMahon, sisters- Faye Johnson, Linda Johnson, Barbara Cantrell, and Janice Elizondo. One brother- Tommy Adams.
Visitation for Chester A. Caldwell will be Friday September 29, 2023 from 11:00am until 1:00pm at the Gaydos Funeral Home 159 2nd street Vanceburg, Ky. 41179.
Funeral services will be Friday at 1:00 pm at the funeral home with Brother Wes Cooper officiating. Burial will follow in the Waring cemetery Garrison, Ky.
Pallbearers for Chester A. Caldwell will be Curtis Brewer, D.J. Bate, Austin Hollins, Brandon Bate, Rory Shumate, Ryder Shumate, Jeff McMahon, and Jayson McMahon. Honorary pallbearers will be Bryan Fetters, Joey Fetters, Brent Fite, David Hollins, and Kevin Callahan.
