Ms. Christine Ash, Age 97, of Vanceburg, Kentucky passed away Thursday April 21, 2022 at her home after an extended illness. Christine was born at Camp Dix, Kentucky May 28th, 1924 to the late Thomas and Martha Conley Stafford. In her earlier years she worked for the U.S. Shoe Corporation in Vanceburg for 30 years. She was a homemaker and was a member of the Vanceburg Christian Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband Rival Ash in 1999, a son David A. Cooper in 2009, sisters- Margaret Cooper, Doris Vandergriff, Imogene Wiley and Mary Catherine Vice. Two brothers- Clyde Stafford and Aaron Stafford.
Left to cherish Christine’s memories is a son- Roger D. (Pat) Cooper of Nashville, Tennessee.
Grandchildren- Katherine Christine (Ed) Hicks of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee; Beverly (Steve) Clary- Mayslick, Kentucky, Austin (Nicki) Cooper of Louisville, Kentucky.
Four great-grandchildren- Brooke and Bradley Hicks, and Grayson and Colton Cooper. Along with several nieces and nephews also survive who will mourn her passing.
Visitation will be Tuesday April 26th, 2022 from 12:00 pm to 2:00pm at the Gaydos Funeral Home 159 2nd street Vanceburg, Kentucky 41179.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2:00 pm at the funeral home with Pastor Tom Cox Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Lewis County Memory Gardens Black Oak, Kentucky.
Pallbearers for Christine Ash will be Steve Clary, Austin Cooper, George Plummer, Ed Hicks, Glen Gilbert, and Anthony Silvey.
