Clarence Burchett Obituary

Mr. Clarence (Clem) Burchett, Age 77, of Vanceburg, Kentucky passed away Saturday April 4, 2020 unexpectedly at Southern Ohio Medical Center Portsmouth, Ohio.

Clem as he was best known as to his friends was born in Portsmouth, Ohio April 24, 1942 to the late Samuel Burchett and Nellie Horsley Greenhill.  He was a veteran of the United States Navy in which he so proudly served his country for 21 years.  After the service he did security work for several different companies before retiring.

Clem loved doing genealogy, going to horseracing, and pickin his guitar. He was a great story teller.  His favorite past time was spending time with his family and friends in person and on facebook.

Left to cherish his memories is his wife of 9 years whom he married August 11, 2011 in Portsmouth, Ohio Beverly Baldwin Burchett.

Two daughters- Ginger Burchett of Federal Way, Washington; and Becky Burchett of Monroe, Georgia.

Two sons- Terry (Michele) Burchett of Gulf Breeze, Florida; and Scott Burchett of Palm Coast, Florida.

Four-step-sons- John (Tammy) Ziggas; Tony (Tammy) Ziggas; Jeff (Denise) Ziggas; and Bob (Keli) Ziggas all from Cincinnati, Ohio.

13- grandchildren and 16-great-grandchildren along with a host of extended family and friends who also will mourn his passing.

Preceded in death beside his parents was his maternal grandparents- James and Bertha Horsley and his paternal grandparents Rush and Maude Burchett.

At Clarence request there will be no visitation or services at this time.  A celebration of life will be held later at the family’s convenience.
