Mr. Clevie Nolen, Age 94, of Vanceburg, Kentucky passed away Tuesday May 29, 2018 at his home with his family by his side after an extended illness.

 

Clevie was born in Laurel, Kentucky July 28, 1923 to the late Oliver Green and Velva Gulley Nolen. Clevie was a farmer all his life raising tobacco and also worked for the Norfolk & Southern Railroad and the U. S Steel Mill in Bucyrus, Ohio. Clevie was a member of the Nolen Pentecostal Church of God. He loved spending time with his family and grandchildren whom he adored. He loved working in his garden. Clevie was a veteran of the United States Army in which he so proudly served.

 

Surviving Clevie are seven daughters- Debbie (Randy) Stevens; Ruth Bevins; and Connie (Larry) Stacy all of Vanceburg, Kentucky. Judy Dawson of Woodville, Ohio; Shirley Brown, Catha Miller, and Nancy Nolen all of Bucyrus, Ohio.

Two sons- Frank (Irene) Nolen of Vanceburg, Kentucky and Ermel Nolen of Bucyrus, Ohio.

7-grandchildren and 5-great-grandchildren also survive who will mourn his passing.

 

Preceded in death beside his parents were five sons- Michael Hannah, Arnold Nolen, Bobby Nolen, Paul Nolen, and Benny Nolen.

One brother- Virgil Nolen

Two sisters- Marie Joseph and Olive Dyer.

Funeral services will be held Saturday June 2^nd, 2018 at 1:00 pm at the Nolen Pentecostal Church of God on Laurel with Brother Hansel Butler officiating.

 

Visitation will be Saturday from 10:00 am until time of services Saturday at the Nolen Pentecostal Church of God.

 

Military graveside rites will be accorded by V.F.W. Post 5438 Monte Lewis Stamm Vanceburg, Kentucky.

 

Pallbearers for Mr. Clevie Nolen will be Larry Stacy, Randy Stevens, Jimmy Hobbs, Jimmy Smith, Jason Hannah, and Michael Bevins.
