Debra Sue Lykins, Age 66, of Vanceburg KY passed away Sunday June 7, 2020 after a hard-fought battle with cancer.

 

Sue was born in Garrison, Kentucky  June 3, 1954 to the late Ralph and Phyllis McKee Cooper.

She was retired from the Lewis County Board of Education and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Vanceburg, Kentucky. She loved flowers and shopping but most of all she loved her grandson Kade.  

She was a devoted loving wife, mother, nana and friend to anyone she knew. She fought this battle strong and hard until the day she died. She will be sadly missed by those that knew and loved her.

 

She is survived by her loving husband of 47 years Richard (Dick) Lykins whom she married on April 14, 1973 at the First Baptist Church in Vanceburg, Ky.

One daughter Tabitha (Ryan), 1 grandson Kade Walters who was her pride and joy, 4 very special honorary grandkids Kirsten and Kolby McCann and Autumn and Jack Picklesimer. She is also survived by Kathy McCann who she thought of as her daughter, 4 brothers David (Brandy)and Keith (Sue) Cooper of Bucyrus Ohio, Mike (Linda) Cooper, Tracey (Kelly) Cooper of Sevierville Tn. 3 brothers in law Roger (Brenda) Lykins, Donald ( Brenda) Lykins and Terry (Bev) Lykins of Vanceburg. 2 sisters in law Sandra (Bill) Blevins of Vanceburg and Debbie Prater of Morehead KY.

 

 She was preceded in death by her parents, her father in law Donald Lykins, a brother in law Allen Prater, and a nephew Keith Prater.

 

Graveside services will be held at Lewis County Memory Gardens on Wednesday June 10, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. with Brother Kevin Watson officiating.

 

Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m.to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday June 9, 2020. At the Gaydos Funeral Home 159 2nd street Vanceburg, Ky. 41179.  Due to COVID- 19 restrictions we will follow all social distancing protocol here at the funeral home.
