Dennis L. Gilbert, Age 68, of River Run Healthcare of Portsmouth, Ohio passed away Tuesday September 10, 2024 at the Southern Ohio Hospice center in Portsmouth, Ohio.

Dennis was born in Portsmouth, Ohio April 21, 1956 to the late Elza Gilbert Jr. and Ailene Jordan Gilbert Burriss.  Dennis worked for the Swan Manufacturing Company in Bucyrus, Ohio.  He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.  Dennis was of the Christian faith.

Left to cherish Dennis’s memories are two sisters- Darlene (Mike) Gilliam of South Shore, Kentucky, Joyce Ann (Danny) Cooley of Vanceburg, Kentucky.

Two brothers- Ronnie (Charlene) Burriss of South Shore, Kentucky; Kevin Burriss (Christy Kidd) of Mount Sterling, Kentucky.

Special Aunt- Betty Bevins of Ohio.  Many nieces and nephews along with several friends who also will mourn his passing.

Preceded in death beside his parents was a brother Timothy Gilbert in 2023.

Graveside services will be Friday September 13, 2024 at Black Oak Cemetery with Brother Tony Corns officiating.  Burial will follow.

Pallbearers for Dennis L. Gilbert will be Buck Burriss, Mike Gilliam, Kevin Burriss, Matthew Maynard, Coy Hill, and Zac Burriss.
