Donna Jean (Applegate) Thoroughman

Mrs. Donna Jean Thoroughman, Age 71, of Galion, Ohio formerly of Vanceburg, Kentucky passed away Saturday February 27^th, 2021 at the Ohio State Medical Hospice Center in Columbus, Ohio. 

Donna, was born in Vanceburg, Kentucky November 27, 1949 to the late Adolphus and Cynthia Mae Canell Applegate.  Donna, in her earlier years worked for Special Packaging Company in Bucyrus, Ohio for 14 years.  She also was a homemaker.  She loved going to yard sales and shop at Goodwill and thrift stores.  She also enjoyed working in her garden.

She was a member of the Shepherds Chapel Church in Clarksburg, Ky.

Left to cherish Donna’s memories is her husband of 55 years whom she married March 20^th, 1965 Donald Thoroughman of Galion, Ohio.

Three daughters- Rose Ann (Grannie) Sutter of Marion, Ohio; Melissa (Eric) Swanson- Homestead Falls, Ohio; and Jennifer Raby of Bucyrus, Ohio.

Two sons- Donald Jr. (Teresa) Thoroughman and Anthony ‘Andy’ (Tenia) Thoroughman both of Bucyrus, Ohio.

Sisters- Mary Alice (Sis) Clark of Vanceburg and Nellie Bloomfield of Woodland, Alabama

Brothers- Bud Applegate and Gene (Ann) Applegate both of Vanceburg.

Grandchildren- Justin (Erin), Michael R. (Krinda), Shane (Anna), Michael B., Bryan, Ceira, Andy Jr. (Pee Wee), Ally and Arianna (Hannie).  Great- grandchildren- Zyler, Abel, Nevaeh, and Derrick.  Many nieces and nephews also survive who will mourn her passing.

Preceded in death beside her parents was a granddaughter- Vicki, great-granddaughter- Nikkita, brothers- Harold, Cliff, and George (Peanut), and Freddie Applegate.  Sisters- Ruthie, Verna, and Margie.

Visitation will be Wednesday March 3^rd, 2021 from 1-3 pm at the Gaydos Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be Wednesday March 3^rd, 2021 at 3:00 pm with Brother Paul Stanton officiating.  Burial will be at a later date.
