Mr. Douglas L. Osborne, Age 78, of Portsmouth, Ohio formerly of Garrison, Kentucky passed away Sunday November 26, 2023 at Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth, Ohio after an extended illness.

Douglas, was born in Garrison, Kentucky March 15, 1945 to the late Roy C. and Helen Cooper Osborne.  Earlier in life Douglas liked spending time on the farm and was an avid fisherman.  He loved reading books of all types.  Douglas was a graduate of Lewis County High School Class of 1965.  Was a graduate of Interstate Business College in 1968 from Portsmouth, Ohio. 

Douglas was a self-employed accountant.  He also worked for Walmart for 15 years.  Douglas, was most proud of being an Elder at three different congregations Village View Church of Christ in Bowling Green, Ohio, Garrison Church of Christ, and Ohio Avenue Christian Church in New Boston, Ohio.

Douglas was a STAUNCH supporter of the Republican Party.  Most of all he loved his children and grandchildren.

Left to cherish memories of Douglas is a daughter- Deanna (Craig) Lee of Hillard, Ohio.  Son- James D. (Wendy) Osborne- Portsmouth, Ohio.

Grandchildren-Sarah Beth Lee, and David Lee, along with many grandchildren by choice.  Life companion- Phyllis Thoroughman- Portsmouth, Ohio.

Sisters- Deliah Coe- Portage, Michigan, Janie Collins- Vanceburg, Kentucky.

Brothers- Dennis (Sue) Osborne- Maumee, Ohio and Oval (Lorna) Osborne- Garrison, Kentucky.

Preceded in death beside his parents was his wife Mary Ann Gill Osborne in 2007, brother Danny A, Osborne in 2023.

Visitation will be Friday December 1, 2023 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at the Carey’s Run Church of Christ 1560 Carey’s Run Rd. West Portsmouth, Ohio 45663.

Funeral service will be Friday December 1, 2023 at 1:00 pm at the Carey’s Run Church of Christ with James D. Osborne officiating.  Burial will follow at a later date.  Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
