Dwight E. Adams Obituary

Dwight E. Adams, Age 65, of Vanceburg, Kentucky passed away Thursday November 21, 2024 at Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth, Ohio.  Dwight was born in Portsmouth, Ohio October 9, 1959 to the late Leslie E. and Ethel Miller Adams.  Dwight was a plumber for over 35 years working for various Industrial companies.  He loved golfing, riding his Harley Davidson motorcycles because there was no other motorcycle in his opinion.  A huge animal lover.  Dwight, liked listening to music especially Jimmy Buffett and Lynyrd Skynyrd.  He also enjoyed playing his guitar.  He was an avid Bengals fan and never knew a stranger and was always willing to give family and friends a helping hand in need. 

Dwight served as a Deacon at Garrison First Baptist Church.  Most of all he loved God, his family and country.  Surviving Dwight is a daughter- Jennifer (Tranell) Brooks of Dayton, Ohio.

Two sons- Kyle Adams of Vanceburg, Ky.; and Garrett (Mary) Adams of Indianapolis, Indiana.

Four sisters- Kathy (Keith) Adams Wright, Jeanne (Chuck) Gordon both of Melbourne, Florida.  Marge Everman- Portsmouth, Ohio, and Donna Ruckel of Vanceburg, Ky.  One brother- Roger Caldwell- Garrison, Ky.  4- grandchildren- Gabriel Simmons, Shaelynn Thobe, Kaedyn Brooks, and Emalee Adams.  Dwight’s 2nd wife – Jeri Ann Mills- Greenwood, Indiana.  Sisters-in-law- Marilynn Adams- Aberdeen, Ohio, and Brenda Caldwell-Tollesboro, Ky.  Lifelong BEST friend for 45 years Denver Melton Jr.  Along with several nieces and nephews and extended family who also will mourn his passing.

Preceded in death beside his parents was his 1st wife- Sherryl Moses Adams, 3rd wife- Petra Bahms Adams, two sons- Joshua Adams and Dwight Adams Jr., 4- sisters- Janice Elizondo, Faye Johnson, Barbara Cottrell, and Linda Johnson.  3-brothers- Dewey Robert Adams, Thomas Adams, and Chester Caldwell.  Sister-in-law- Kathy Caldwell.  4- brothers-in-law- Jon Johnson, Jerry Ruckel, Les Cottrell, and Terry Hendrickson.

A Memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday April 26, 2025 at the Garrison First Baptist Church in Garrison, Kentucky with Brother Wes Cooper officiating.  Burial will follow in the Waring cemetery in Garrison, Kentucky.
