Flora Mae Flinders, Age 67, of Vanceburg, Kentucky passed away Friday January 16, 2026 at her home after an extended illness.  Flora was born December 7, 1958 in Russell, Kentucky to the late Chester G. and Lydia Beatrice Zornes Carter. 

Flora was a homemaker and loved talking on the phone and spending time with her children, and her grandchildren whom she adored.  Flora was of the Christian faith.

Left to cherish Flora’s memories is her husband, Glen Flinders of Vanceburg, Ky.

One daughter- Jennie (Jeff) Mofford of Tollesboro, Ky.  Three sons- Chester Allen Flinders of Vanceburg, Ky., Rickie Lee Flinders- Tollesboro, Ky., and Glen David (Ariane) Flinders.

One sister- Dolores Brown- Vanceburg, Ky. One brother- Sam (Joyce) Carter of Columbus, Ohio.  16-grandchildren and several family and friends who also will mourn her passing.

Preceded in death beside her parents were two brothers Garland David Carter and Chester Carter.

Visitation for Flora Mae Flinders will be Tuesday January 20, 2026 from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm at the Gaydos Funeral Home 159 2nd street Vanceburg, Kentucky 41179.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday January 20, 2026 at 12:00 pm at the Gaydos Funeral Home with Pastor Jason Giles officiating.  Burial will follow in the Crystal Dawn cemetery in Quincy, Kentucky.

Pallbearers for Flora Mae Flinders will be Rickie Flinders, Chester Flinders, Tyson Mofford, Rick Holmes, Eugene Calder, Lynn Flinders, Jeff Mofford, and Kyle Flinders.
