Fredrick Raymond Evans, Age 76, of Owenton, Kentucky formerly of Vanceburg, Kentucky passed away unexpectedly Saturday June 18th, 2022 at the V.A. Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky.
Fred, as he was known to family and friends was born in Lewis County, Kentucky July 10th, 1945 to the late Falmouth and Evelyn Lewis Evans. Fred, was a graduate from Lewis County High School Class of 1963. Was the first class to graduate from then the New Lewis County High School. Fred was an insurance agent for Western-Southern Life Insurance Company for 20 years, from there he went to Kentucky Farm Bureau has a licensed insurance agent for over 22 years.
He coached softball, baseball, and football in Owenton, Kentucky. He loved to go deer hunting and golfing with his family. He also loved spending time with his family in Florida. He loved being with his family and ADORED his grandchildren. Fred was a Master mason with dual membership with Jonesboro Lodge # 87 and Owen Lodge # 128 Free & Accepted Masons.
Fred, was a United States Navy veteran in which he served his country in Vietnam for which he was so proud of.
Left to cherish Fred’s memories are two daughters- Jennifer Caudill (Bryan Jones) of Owenton, Ky., Erika (Tony) Richardson of Tampa, Florida.
Sisters- Doris Thoroughman of Flemingsburg, Ky., Pat Bryant- South Portsmouth, Ky., and Sandy (Ezra) Bartee of Yale, Michigan.
One brother- Larry Evans of Camp Dix, Kentucky. 9-grandchildren and 1-great-granddaughter also survive who will mourn his passing.
Preceded in death beside his parents was his wife Linda Sue Sartin Evans in August 2021, sister- Joyce Hobbs, sister-in-law- Janet Evans, brothers-in-law Paul Bryant, Billy D. Thoroughman, and Paul Underwood.
Funeral services will be Thursday June 23rd, 2022 at 11:00 am at the Gaydos Funeral Home 159 2nd street Vanceburg, Kentucky 41179 with Brother Tim Underwood officiating. Burial will follow in Lewis County Memory Gardens Black Oak, Ky.
Visitation will be Wednesday June 22nd, 2022 from 5-8 pm and from 9:00am until services Thursday at the funeral home. Masonic rites will be held Wednesday June 22nd at 7:30 pm.
Military graveside rites will be accorded by the V.F.W. Post 5438 Monte Lewis Stamm of Vanceburg, Ky.
Pallbearers for Fredrick Raymond Evans will be Johnathan Caudill, Joshua Caudill, Roman Conely, Joseph Evans, Josh Kirschbaum, and Cruz Evans. Honorary pall bearers will be Evan Rhodus, Mint Miller, and Daniel Bartee.
