Frieda (Gilkison) Sartin

Mrs. Frieda Imogene Sartin, Age 91, of Vanceburg, Kentucky passed away peacefully with her family by her side Tuesday July 27^th, 2021 at the Maysville Rehabilitation & Health Care Center in Maysville, Kentucky.

Frieda, was born in Lewis County, Kentucky November 3^rd, 1929 to the late Russell and Marguerite Walje Gilkison.  Frieda, in her earlier years worked Martin Campbells grocery store and Guy Horsley Grocery store.  She also worked for the McBrayer’s Five and Dime and Lewis County Foodland Store in Vanceburg.

She loved going to Walmart shopping and visiting with everyone. Frieda enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family.

Preceded her in death beside her parents was her husband Clifford Sartin Jr. in 2002.  Step-daughter- Joyce Ann, sister- Frances Dunaway, and a son-in-law- Gary Paul Underwood.

Left to cherish Frieda’s memories are two daughters- Linda Sue (Fred) Evans of Owenton, Kentucky.

Gail Underwood (Ronnie) of Vanceburg, Ky.

Six grandchildren, and 12- great-grandchildren, two-great-great- grandchildren who also will mourn her passing.

Visitation will be Friday July 30^th, 2021 from 5-8 pm and from 10:00 am until time of services Saturday at the Gaydos Funeral Home 159 2^nd Street Vanceburg, Ky. 41179.

Funeral services will be Saturday July 31^st, 2021 at 1:00 pm at the Gaydos Funeral Home with Brother Tim Underwood officiating.  Burial will follow in Lewis County Memory Gardens Black Oak, Ky.

Pallbearers for Frieda Sartin will be Chris Butler, Evan Rhodus, Thomas Mendenhall, Nolan Mendenhall, Joey Gilliam, and Trey Brown.  Johnny Lykins will serve as an Honorary pallbearer.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Hospice of Hope in Maysville, Kentucky or Faith Baptist Church Garrison, Ky.
