Gene A. Cooper, Age 91, of Vanceburg, Kentucky passed away Tuesday February Gene, was born in Stricklett, Kentucky January 1, 1934 son of the late Plez and Eva Young Cooper. Gene was a farmer and owned and operated his own sawmill. He also repaired small engines in his spare time. Gene was of the Christian faith.
Left to cherish Gene’s memories is his wife of 71 years whom he married July 27, 1953 in Flemingsburg, Kentucky Bessie Sparks Cooper of Vanceburg, Kentucky.
Brother- Alford Cooper of Vanceburg, Kentucky.
Five grandchildren and 9-great-grandchildren also survive who will mourn his passing.
Preceded Gene in death beside his parents was a daughter- Genee Applegate and a son Larry Cooper, 2 sisters-Thelma King and Doris Linville. 3-brothers- Wilford Cooper, Cecil Cooper, and Douglas Cooper.
Visitation for Gene A. Cooper will be Friday February 7, 2025 10:00 am until 12:00 pm at the Gaydos Funeral Home 159 2nd street Vanceburg, Kentucky 41179.
Funeral service will be held Friday at 12:00 pm at the Gaydos Funeral Home with Brother Terry Cooper officiating. Burial will follow in the McEldowney cemetery.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers for Gene A. Cooper.
