Mr. Hershel D. Gilbert, Age 65, of Vanceburg, Kentucky passed away at his home Tuesday June 2nd, 2020.
Hershel was born in Portsmouth, Ohio to the late Floyd ‘Poke’ Gilbert and Virginia Moore of Vanceburg, Ky.
Hershel worked for the CSX Railroad for 36 years from which he retired from in 2009. He loved to attend Horseshoe tournaments and occasionally participated in them. Hershel was of the Christian faith.
Left to cherish Hershel memories is his mother- Virginia Moore of Vanceburg, Ky.
One daughter- Heather Gilbert and a son Aaron (Penny) Gilbert both of Vanceburg, Ky.
Brother- Darrell Gilbert and a sister Sharon Corns both of Vanceburg.
2-grandchildren Katlyn Gilbert and Natalee Gilbert who also will mourn his passing.
Preceded in death beside his father Floyd was his wife Rita Gilbert in 2007.
Two brothers- Rickey Gilbert and Steven Gilbert.
At the family’s request there will be private services at a later date at the convenience of the family
