Mr. Howard Edwin Brewer Jr., age 85, of Vanceburg, Kentucky passed away with family by his side Saturday morning March 13, 2021 at the SOMC Hospice Center in Portsmouth, Ohio.

He was born April 12, 1935, in Lewis County, Kentucky to the late Howard Sr. and Nan Holt Brewer.

Howard is a veteran of the United States Navy and Air Force. He retired from Browning Manufacturing. Howard was a member of the Vanceburg United Methodist Church and the Eastern Star. Howard enjoyed gardening and working on projects around his home. Most of all he loved spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister Betty Reis and daughter Molly Logan.

Howard is survived by his wife of 56 years, Colleen Brewer, whom he married March 17, 1964 in Russell, Kentucky.

He is also survived by: one sister Marlene Gallenstein of Melbourne, Florida; one daughter Billi (Bob) Hughes of Arlington, Texas; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; he also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.

Funeral services will be held Friday March 19th 2021, at 3:00pm at the Gaydos Funeral Home 159 second street Vanceburg, Kentucky 41179. Brother Jim Finch will be officiating burial will follow at a later date.

Friends may call from Noon until 2:00 pm on Friday at the funeral Home. Masonic rites will be performed at 2:00 pm.
