Jack Esham Obituary

Jack V. Esham, age 89, of Vanceburg, KY passed away Sunday November 1, 2015 with his loving family by his side at Golden Living Center in Vanceburg.

 

Jack was born in Portsmouth, Ohio on July 30, 1926 to the late Everett and Lola Rouse Esham. Mr. Esham was a master mechanic and carpenter, and a very talented artist. Jack was a veteran of World War II where he served our country proudly in the U.S. Navy. Known for his knowledge of the bible, he was a Sunday school teacher for 30 years, using his art to bring lessons of the scriptures to life. In his later years, he became a member of the First Baptist Church.

 

Surviving is Jack's devoted wife of 62 years, Betty JoAnn Evans Esham whom he married on June 6, 1953.

2- Daughters Jackie (Kenny) Claxon of Vanceburg and Anita (Benny) Muckelroy of Frankfort.

2- Grandchildren Kent (Amanda) Claxon of Addison, Texas and Sara (Andy) Boissonneau of Fayetteville, North Carolina

1- Great Grandson John Andrew (Baby Jack) Boissonneau

1- Sister Nancy (Douglas) Applegate of Vanceburg, Ky.

And several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews also survive.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers: Howard, Harold, and Marvin Esham.

 

Friends may call from 5-9pm Wednesday November 4, 2015 at the Gaydos Funeral Home 2nd Street Vanceburg, KY 41179 and from 8:00 a.m. until the time of services Thursday at the Funeral Home.

 

Funeral Services will be Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at the Gaydos Funeral Home with Dr. Howard Wilson and Brother Acy Gibson officiating. Burial will follow in Lewis County Memory Gardens in Black Oak, Ky

Full military graveside rites will be accorded by the V.F.W. Post 5438 Monte Lewis Stamm.
