Mr. Jack D. Hobbs Sr., Age 62, of Vanceburg, Kentucky passed away at his home Wednesday October 3rd, 2018 after an extended illness.
Jack was born in Lewis County, Ky., October 12, 1955 to the late Wilford and Opal Mae McCleese Hobbs. Jack worked for Jeff Ginn Blacktop Company for several years. He attended the Church of God in his earlier years. Jack loved his family dearly and was an avid fan of George Jones.
Surviving Jack are four sons- Joshua (Booner) Hobbs and his fiance' Theresa Aber and daughter Addison of Newark, Ohio.
Faron (Heather) Hall of Newark, Ohio; Shane Hall of Mt. Vernon, Ohio; and Travis Hall of West Virginia.
One daughter- Jeanie (Steve) Gill and there sons Eric & Cameron McCann of Tollesboro, Ky.
Sisters- Darlene Barker of Bucyrus, Ohio; Nancy (Roy) Carrington -Vanceburg, Ky.
Brothers- James Hobbs-Vanceburg, Ky.; Kenneth (Regina) Hobbs- Black Oak, Ky; and Roger Hobbs of Aberdeen, Ohio.
Several grandchildren and two great-grandchildren also survive who will mourn his passing.
Preceded in death beside his parents were brothers- Roy Gene, Virgil, Ralph, Willie, Kendall and Gary Hobbs. One sister- Marlene Sue Williamson.
A Memorial service will be held Saturday October 6th, 2018 from 9:00am until 11:00 am at the Gaydos Funeral Home 159 2nd street Vanceburg, Ky. 41179.
Burial will follow after the service at Black Oak cemetery.
