Jacqueline (Colley) Staggs

Mrs. Jacqueline Colley Staggs, Age 87, of Vanceburg, Kentucky along with her husband Kenneth Staggs, perished December 29, 2021 due to an explosion, fire to their home on Mills Branch Road, Vanceburg, Ky.

Jackie as she was known by family and friends was born in Sciotoville, Ohio July 23rd, 1934, to the late John and Effie Colley McKnight.  Jacqueline, was a homemaker all her life, and loved to garden, canning, and sewing.  She loved her flowers taking special care for them.  She and Kenneth would attend churches all over the county as well going to Ohio where Kenneth would play his guitar.

Jackie and Kenny were married for 71 years August 10, 1950 in Vanceburg, Ky.

Left to cherish Jackie’s memories are three daughters- Sheila (Curtis) McGlone of Tollesboro, Ky., Lois Jean of Kentucky, and Debra (Chuck) Switzer of Vanceburg, Ky.

One son- Kenneth Staggs Jr. and his wife Kathy of Vanceburg, Ky.

Two sisters- Connie Cook, of Ohio, and Tammy (Jerry) Justice of South Portsmouth, Kentucky.

Two brothers- Jerry Colley of Portsmouth, Ohio, and Richard (Shirley) Colley of West Portsmouth, Ohio.  Several grandchildren, along with many great, and great-great-grandchildren survive who will mourn her passing.

Preceded in death beside her parents were two sisters- Carolyn Shepherd, and Sandra Grey, three brothers- Earl Colley, Johnny Colley, and Gary Colley.

A Memorial service will be held Friday January 7^th, 2022 at 12:00 pm at the Gaydos Funeral Home with Brother Milt Stanfield officiating.

Visitation will be Friday January 7^th, 2022 at 11:00am until time of services at the funeral home.
