Mr. James Nicholas Prater Sr., Age 81, of Vanceburg passed away at his residence Monday May 22nd, 2017. James was born in Charters, Kentucky September 28, 1936 to the late Marvin and Iva Kinney Prater.
James was a farmer all his life and also worked in the logging industry.
James is survived by a grandson Charles Andrew Prater of Vanceburg, Ky.
A great grandson- Gunner Prater of Vanceburg, Ky.
Several Aunts and Uncles, nieces and nephews also survive who will mourn his passing.
Preceded in death beside his parents were two sons- James Nicholas Prater Jr. in 1995 and Marvin Charles Prater in 2000. A granddaughter- Summer Prater.
Brother- Wilburn Prater in 2000.
At the family's request there will be no visitation or services.
