Jeffrey R Sparks

Jeffrey R. Sparks, Age 66, of Vanceburg, Kentucky passed away peacefully at his home with his loving family by his side Tuesday August 1, 2023 after an extended illness.

Jeffrey was born in Portsmouth, Ohio March 27, 1957 to the late Elmer Jim Sparks and Thelma Ruth Gilbert Sparks.  He was an active member of the Vanceburg First Baptist Church.  He loved going to church, camping, boating and deer hunting, and riding his side by side.  Jeffrey loved spending time with his family and friends.  Especially his grandchildren whom he adored.

Left to cherish Jeffrey’s memories is his wife whom he married July 5, 2022 in Tennessee Sharlene Russo Sparks of Vanceburg, Kentucky.

One daughter- Cami Carl of Charlestown, Indiana.

Two step-sons- Harold (Kelly) Potter and Shawn (Destiny) Potter both of Vanceburg, Kentucky.

Sisters- Diana Sue Hersh and Patricia (Johnny) Mefford both of Vanceburg, Kentucky.

Brothers- Jerry (Betty) Sparks, Dennis (Linda) Sparks, Greg (Roberta) Sparks, James (Candy) Sparks, and Bradley (Angie) Sparks all of Vanceburg, Kentucky.

Mike (Maria) Sparks of Vermillion, Ohio, Gary (Denyse) Sparks of Tollesboro, Kentucky, and Roger Sparks of New London, Ohio.

Two granddaughters, 10-step-grandchildren, and 1-step-great-granddaughter along with several nieces and nephews also survive who will mourn his passing.

Preceded in death beside his parents was a sister Joyce Scott, sister-in-law- Judy Sparks, and brother-in-law Kenneth Scott.

Visitation will be Thursday August 3, 2023 from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm at the Gaydos Funeral Home 159 2nd street Vanceburg, Kentucky.

Funeral service will be at 2:00 pm August 3, 2023 with Dr. Howard Wilson and Brother Kevin Cornett officiating.

Burial will be at a later date at the convenience of the family.
