Mr. Jessie D. Cushard, Age 77, of Vanceburg, Kentucky passed away with his family by his side Saturday December 30th, 2017 at his home after an extended illness.
Jessie was born in Vanceburg, Kentucky December 11, 1940 to the late Bill and LouAnna Swim Cushard. Jessie was an over the road truck driver for 26 years traveling all over the United states. He also worked as a heavy equipment operator and worked for the Penn-Central Railroad in Northern Ohio. Jessie was of the Christian Faith.
Surviving Jessie is his wife whom he married December 20th, 2017 Betty Ruth Gilliam Cushard of Vanceburg, Ky.; Two daughters- Samantha Cushard of Atlanta, Georgia; Sabrina Marie Cushard of Beckley, West Virginia.
Three sons- Kenneth Lee and his wife (Wendy) Cushard Grandview, Indiana; Jay D. and his wife (Dawn) Cushard of Tollesboro, Ky.; and Jason Daniel Cushard of Vanceburg, Ky.
Two- step-daughters- Ruth Ann Cushard and Joyce Cooley both of Vanceburg, Ky.
One step-son- George Gilliam Jr. and his wife (Missy) of Vanceburg, Ky.
12-grandchildren and 4-great-grandchildren 2-great-great-grandchildren, 7-step-grandchildren, and 7-step-great-grandchildren also survive who will mourn his passing
Preceded in death beside his parents were two sons- David and Donald Eugene Cushard, a grandson- Daniel Eugene Cushard, 4-brothers- William, Elmer, Dean, and Joe Cushard.
5-sisters- Ida, Mamie, Eileen, Edna, and Maxine.
Funeral services will be Wednesday January 3rd, 2018 at 11:00am at the Gaydos Funeral Home 159 2nd street Vanceburg, Kentucky 41179 with Mark Cushard officiating. Burial will follow in the Cedar Grove Cemetery on Holly.
Friends may call Wednesday January 3rd from 9:00am until time of services at the funeral home.
Pallbearers for Mr. Jessie D. Cushard will be his family.
