Joann Adams Obituary

Joann Adams, age 86, of Vanceburg, Kentucky passed away Thursday, January 23, 2025 at her home.

Joann was born on September 8, 1938 in Salt Lick, Kentucky, to the late Frank and Ruby Sartin Bivens.

Joann retired from the U.S. Shoe Corporation. She was a member of the Bridge Church and a former member of the Church of God. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoyed going to church, reading her Bible, sewing, fishing, and doing word searches.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Lovell Adams of 50 years, a sister Violet Sue Bivens, two brothers Raymond Bivens and Johnie Bivens.

Joann is survived by one son David (Shannon Nolen) Adams of Winchester, Kentucky. Two Sisters Alma (Pal) Hamilton of Columbus, Ohio, and June (Paul) Robinette of South Shore, Kentucky. One Granddaughter Monica Adams of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Several nieces and nephews and special friends who will sadly mourn her passing.

Services will be held Monday January 27, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at the Gaydos Funeral Home, 159 Second Street, Vanceburg, Kentucky. Pastor Ben Collier will be officiating. Burial will follow at the Lewis County Memory Gardens in Black Oak, Kentucky.

Friends may come from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services on Monday January 27, 2025.

Pallbearers will be Chad Kidwell, Billy McClurg, Chantz Walters, Johnny Bivens, Ellis Kidwell, and Brent Scott. Serving as Honorary pallbearer will be Lee Salsgiver.
