John W. Scott, Age 69, of Vanceburg, Kentucky passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family Sunday August 3, 2025.

John, was born in Portsmouth, Ohio May 20, 1956 to the late Wilbur and Anna Louise Lewis Scott.  John worked for the U.S. Shoe factory in Vanceburg for 30 years until it’s closing.  John was an avid outdoorsman hunting and fishing along with many other outdoor activities.

John was of the Christian faith but, more importantly was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. 

Left to cherish John’s memories is his wife of 47 years Sally Ames Scott of Vanceburg, Ky.

Sons- Jeremy (Crystal) Ames of Garrison, Kentucky, Bon Wesley (Erika) Scott of Quincy, Ky.

Sister- Ramona Bivens of Vanceburg, Kentucky.

7-grandchildren- Alison Ames, Brice Scott, Alaric Scott, Keygan Scott, Charlotte Corns, Lathanial Wallace, and Trystan Wallace.

Preceded John in death beside his parents was a sister Nancy Scott, brothers Nelson Scott, Kenneth Scott, and Wilbur Eugene Scott.

A celebration of life will be at a later date at the convenience of the family.
