Mr. Joseph M. Harrison, Age 76, of Vanceburg, Kentucky passed away at his home with his family by his side Monday October 9^th, 2017 after an extended illness.

 

Joe, which he was known as was born in Lewis County, Kentucky April 16^th, 1941 to the late Omar and Arta Lykins Harrison. Joe was an educator at the Lewis County School system where he taught physical education for 27 years. Also drove school bus for Lewis County from which he retired. He was a member of the Vanceburg Christian Church. Joe, loved antique cars and was a member of the Lugnutz Car Club. He was a proud farmer, where he raised cattle.

 

Joe is survived by his wife Bonnie Reeder Harrison of Vanceburg, Kentucky.

One daughter- Susan (Erich) Walder of Cincinnati, Ohio.

One son- Benjamin Harrison of Vanceburg, Kentucky.

Brother- Omar L. (Claudia) Harrison of Plymouth, Michigan.

Nieces and nephews- Christy Schultz, Rebecca Tuttle, Randy Reeder, Natalie (Chris) Elam, and Derrick (Liz) Reeder who also will mourn his passing.

 

Funeral services will be Thursday October 12^th, 2017 @ 11:00am at the Vanceburg Christian Church with Pastor Tom Cox Jr. officiating. Entombment will follow in the Lewis County Memory Gardens Black Oak, Kentucky.

 

Visitation will be Wednesday October 11^th, 2017 from 5-8 pm and Thursday from 8-10:am at the Gaydos Funeral Home 159 2^nd street Vanceburg, Kentucky 41179.

 

Pallbearers for Joseph M. Harrison will be Gary Kidwell, Dwight Ruark, Derrick Reeder, Maurice Reeder Jr., Erich Walder, and Omar Harrison.
