Joyce (McRoberts) Sparks

Joyce M. Sparks, Age 102, went to be with her Lord and Saviour Friday May 5, 2023 at the Kenton Pointe Hospice Center in Maysville, Kentucky.

Joyce was born in Fleming County, Kentucky April 7, 1921 to the late James C. and Maudie Muse McRoberts.  Joyce, worked for the Lewis County Library, and for The First Community Bank in Vanceburg.  She was a homemaker.

She was a member of the Union Baptist Church on Kinney.

Preceded Joyce in death beside her parents was her husband Johnnie F. Sparks, in 2015.  Sisters- Minnie Crawford, and Irene Stamm.  Brothers- Clifford McRoberts, Douglas McRoberts, Espie McRoberts, and Jimmy McRoberts.

Left to cherish her memories is a daughter- Mrs. Geraldine (Roy) Hylander of Vanceburg, Kentucky.

Son- Wendell Sparks of Vanceburg, Kentucky.

Brother- Ernie McRoberts of Ashland, Kentucky.

One grandson, 2-great-grandchildren and 1-great-great- grandchild along with many other relatives and friends who will mourn her passing.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday May 10, 2023 at 2:00 pm at the Gaydos Funeral Home with Brothers Harry Meadows and Joe Watson officiating.  Burial will follow in the Thomas cemetery Lewis County, Kentucky.

Visitation will be Wednesday May 10, 2023 from 10:00 am until time of services at the funeral home.

Pallbearers for Joyce M. Sparks will be Randy McCleese, Jack McEldowney, Roy Hylander, Eddie Stamm, David McRoberts, and Dean McCleese.  Honorary pallbearers will be Paul Smith, and Paul O’Bannon.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Union Baptist Church or the Foxport Baptist Church.
