Karys D. Shaw

Karys D. Shaw, Age 18, and her unborn daughter died early Wednesday morning May 8, 2024 as a result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.

Karys was born in Huntington, West Virginia October 10, 2005 to the late Adam and Kristan Esham Shaw.  She worked as a Home Care aid for Tipton Private Company from Richmond, Kentucky.  She was very passionate about caring for animals especially her dogs.  Karys was very artistic and enjoyed painting.  Karys was of the Christian Faith.

Preceded her in death beside her parents was her step- father James Bradley Esham, and grandfather John Lee Esham.

Left to cherish Karys memories is her adopted mother- Rebecca Knell of South Portsmouth, Kentucky.

Daughter- Emberlee Sprouse- South Portsmouth, Kentucky.

Brother- Kaiden Shaw of Maysville, Kentucky.

Paternal grandparents- Rick (Skeeter) and Sonia Shaw of Tollesboro, Kentucky.

Maternal great-grandparents- Kenneth and Marcella Esham of Vanceburg, Kentucky.  Along with several family and friends who also will mourn her passing.

A Memorial service will be held Tuesday May 14, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. at Gaydos Funeral Home 159 2nd street Vanceburg, Kentucky 41179 with Brother Scott Cummins officiating.

Visitation will be Tuesday May 14, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. until time of services at the Gaydos Funeral Home.
