Mr. Larry D. Burriss, Age 71, of Garrison, Kentucky passed away Saturday March 6, 2021 at his home.

Larry was born in Black Oak, Kentucky March 4h, 1950 to the late Othiel ‘Jum’ and Irene Lewis Burriss.  Larry loved to go hunting and being outdoors.  Larry was a veteran of the Vietnam War in the United States Army in which he so proudly served.  Larry would spend time with his late wife Carla watching Old Westerns together.  Larry worked as a certified Welder for the Johnson Control Company and the Qualex Company in Georgetown, Kentucky for 35 plus years.

After being away for over 30 years Larry and Carla decided to move back to Lewis County in 2012 to retire.

Left to cherish Larry’s memories is a sister- Mildred Parnell of Mansfield, Ohio.

Half- sister- Joyce (Danny) Cooley- Vanceburg, Ky.

Brother-- Glen (Bonnie) Burriss of Hillsboro, Kentucky.  Half-brothers- Kevin Burriss -Mt. Sterling, Ky., and Ronnie (Charlene) Burriss of South Shore, Ky.

Several nieces and nephews also survive who will mourn his passing.

Preceded in death beside his parents was his wife of 47 years Carla Adkins Burriss February 4, 2021.  Sisters- Janet Meadows, and Phylliss Burriss.

Brothers- Willard M. Burriss, Gene Burriss, Charles Burriss, and Nelson Burriss.

Visitation will be Friday March 12, 2021 from 10:30 am until 11:30 am at the Gaydos Funeral Home.

Graveside services will be Friday March 12, 2021 at 12:00 pm at Waring cemetery Garrison, Kentucky with Brother John Byard officiating.  Burial will follow.

Military graveside rites will be accorded by V.F.W. Post 5438 Monte Lewis Stamm.

Pallbearers for Mr. Larry D. Burriss will be Josh Underwood, Tom Oakley, Zane Willis, William McCleese, Jack McCleese, and Jason Underwood.
