Ms. Mary F. Thurman, Age 83, of Tollesboro, Kentucky passed away Wednesday January 10, 2018 with her family by her side at the Hospice of Hope Center Maysville, Kentucky after an extended illness.
Mary was born in Charters, Kentucky September 27, 1934 to the late Willard James and Gladys Louise Monroe Clark. Mary worked for the U.S. Shoe factory here in Vanceburg, Ky. She also was a homemaker. She also owned and operated a 2nd hand store. Her hobbies included quilting, gardening, and canning fruits. She was a member of the Canaan Holiness Church.
Surviving Mary is a daughter- Sue Ellen McConiha and her companion (Phillip Frazier) of Cincinnati, Ohio.
One son- Robert and his wife (Donna) Thurman of Tollesboro, Ky.
5-grandchildren- Nathaniel Thurman, Mary Beth Thurman, Ellen and her husband (Frankie) Minner, Joseph Goodwin and his companion (Nick Kahrs) and Austin Goodwin.
One sister- Violet Lucille Highfield of Ribolt, Ky.
Special niece- Mary Louise and her husband (Richard) Howard, a nephew- James Thurman who also will mourn her passing.
Preceded her in death beside her parents was her husband Alva E. (Cabbage) Thurman in 2004, a brother Charles Raymond Clark.
Friends may call Friday January 12th, 2018 from 5-8pm at the Hickory Grove Church in Tollesboro, Kentucky and one hour prior to services Saturday January 13th at the Church.
Funeral service will be held Saturday January 13th, 2018 at NOON at the Hickory Grove Church in Tollesboro, Kentucky with Brother David Hickerson officiating. Burial will follow in the Mount Tabor Cemetery Ribolt, Ky.
Pallbearers for Mary F. Thurman will be James Thurman, Larry Mason, Joseph Goodwin, Matt Plymesser, Wayne Thoroughman, Brad Williamson. Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Howard and Billy Howard.
