Ms. Oleta Jewel Pettit, Age 99, of Vanceburg, Kentucky passed away Sunday March 1^st, 2020 with family by her side at Southern Ohio Medical Hospice Center in Portsmouth, Ohio.

Oleta was born in Glen Springs, Kentucky August 29, 1920 to the late Edgar Leroy Polllitt and Minnie Bell Howell.  She worked as an elevator operator in Baltimore, Maryland.  She also was a homemaker.  She was baptized in the Black Oak Christian Church where she was a member.

Oleta was married to the late Calvin F. Pettit who passed in 2011.  They were married in Baltimore, Maryland April 18, 1958.

Also, preceded her in death were sisters- Alma Combess; Audrey Burriss; Mary Jane Burriss; Betty  Durham; and Olive Mae Horsley.  Three brothers- Elmer Pollitt, Robert Pollitt, and Jimmy Pollitt.

Left to cherish Oleta’s memories is a sister- Pauline Chinn of Vanceburg, Kentucky.

Brother-in-law- Hobart Horsley of Vanceburg, Ky.

Several nieces and nephews along with cousins who also will mourn her passing.

Visitation will be Wednesday March 4^th, 2020 from 6-8 pm and from 8:00 am until time of services Thursday at the Gaydos Funeral Home 159 2^nd Street Vanceburg, Ky. 41179.

Funeral services will be Thursday March 5^th, 2020 at 11:00 am with Brother Wes Cooper officiating.  Burial will follow in the Black Oak Cemetery.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers for Ms. Oleta Jewell Pettit.
