Opal Mae McClurg Obituary

Ms. Opal Mae Wills McClurg, Age 94, of Vanceburg, Kentucky passed away January 10, 2018 at the Vanceburg Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.

Opal was born on Quicks Run, Kentucky November 2, 1923 to the late Robert and Hila Truesdell Wills.

She was a devoted Mother and homemaker. She attended Concord Christian Holiness Church.

 

Surviving Opal are two daughters- Violet J. Preston of Ohio; Wanda and her husband (Robert Bobby) Sweet of Kentucky.

Sister- Lucille Grigson of Kentucky.

Brother- Willie and his wife (Betty) Wills-Kentucky.

Grandchildren- David N. (Joni) Sweet- Texas; Heather (Dusten) Irwin-Kentucky.

Great grandchildren- Kristin (Patrick) Sullivan- Texas; Sierra and Bridget Irwin – Kentucky.

Great-great-grandchildren- Catherine Sullivan and David Sullivan both of Texas.

 

Preceded in death beside her parents was her husband Woodrow 'Woody' McClurg January 17, 2004 whom she married October 11, 1939.; sisters- Bessie Bayless and Rosie Ramsey.

Brothers- Alfred and Lawrence Wills.

 

Funeral services will be Monday at 11:00am January 15th, 2018 at the Gaydos Funeral Home with Brother Lovell Grigson Sr.officiating. Burial will follow in the McClurg cemetery Concord, Kentucky.

Visitation will be Monday January 15th, 2018 from 9:00am until time of services at the funeral home.
