Ravanell Thomas Polley, Age 98, of Vanceburg, Kentucky passed away Saturday June 1, 2024 with her family by her side at the Vanceburg Rehabilitation and Health Care Center after an extended illness.
Ravanell, was born in Lewis County, Kentucky May 22, 1926 to the late Benjamin Jackson and Lorena Simpson Thomas. In her earlier years she worked for the U.S. Shoe Corporation. She also was a farmer. Ravanell and husband Herb owned and operated Polley’s Carryout for several years from which she retired from. She attended the Muses Chapel Church. Her passion was quilting and taking care of her flowers.
Preceded her in death beside her parents was her husband Orville Herb Polley August 6, 2006, sister- Leeta McCall, brothers- Charles Allan Thomas, Jack Thomas, and John Thomas.
Left to cherish Ravanell’s memories is a daughter- Jenny (Paul) Applegate of Vanceburg, Ky.
Son- Butch (Donna) Polley of Vanceburg, Ky.
Her grandchildren whom she adored Cilina (Trent) Underwood, Shane (Samantha) Stafford, Hank (Nicky) Stafford, Lorie (Keith) Ginn, Josh Applegate, Corey (Shelly) Lewis, and Lucy (Ryan) Owens. 13-great grandchildren and 1-great-great-granddaughter Paisley Ravanell Stafford along with many relatives and friends who also will mourn her passing.
Funeral service will be held Tuesday June 4, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at the Gaydos Funeral Home with Brother Mike Grayson officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Tabor cemetery in Ribolt, Ky.
Pallbearers for Ravanell Thomas Polley will be Shane Stafford, Hank Stafford, Hunter Stafford, Ryan Owens, Josh Applegate, and Tanner Underwood. Honorary pallbearers will be Colton Stafford and Cayden Stevenson.
Visitation will be Tuesday June 4, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the Gaydos Funeral Home 159 2nd street Vanceburg, Kentucky 41179.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Muses Chapel Church.
