Rick L. Johnson, Age 66, of Vanceburg, Kentucky passed away Wednesday January 1, 2025 at his home unexpectedly.  Rick was born in Portsmouth, Ohio April 7, 1958 to the late Charlie Johnson and Katy Worthington of Garrison, Kentucky.

Rick, was owner and operator of the Garrison Auction which he did most all of his life.  He liked playing slot machines, going fishing, and enjoyed NASCAR racing.  He also loved going junkin.  Rick was a veteran serving in the United States Marine Corps in which he so proud of.

Left to cherish Rick’s memories is his wife of 40 years- Muriel Ruth Thacker Johnson of Vanceburg, Kentucky.

Daughters- Amanda Moore of Garrison, Kentucky, Nicky Stafford of Black Oak, Kentucky, and Glenna (Billy) Collins of Vanceburg, Kentucky.

Sister- Charla Johnson-Garrison, Kentucky.  13-grandchildren and 16-great-grandchildren also survive who will mourn his passing.

Preceded Rick in death beside his father was a son Chadwick L. Johnson in 2020.

Visitation will be Saturday January 4, 2025 from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm at the Gaydos Funeral Home 159 2nd street Vanceburg, Kentucky 41179.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm at the Gaydos Funeral Home with Brother Wes Cooper officiating.  Burial will follow in Lewis County Memory Gardens Black Oak, Kentucky.

Military graveside rites will be accorded by V.F.W. Monte Lewis Stamm Post 5438 of Vanceburg, Kentucky.

Pallbearers for Rick L.  Johnson will be Billy Kibler, Alex Johnson, Eddie Bost, Dustin Toller, Billy Collins, Tucker Bruch, Dennis Cooper, and Dennis Plummer.
