Shelby G. Mason Obituary

Shelby G. Mason, Age 78, of Vanceburg, Kentucky passed away Wednesday October 3rd, 2018 at the Kenton Pointe Hospice of Hope Maysville, Kentucky.

 

Shelby was born in Lewis County, Ky., November 28, 1939 to the late William and Osa Himes Mason. Shelby was a farmer all of his life. He loved his Bluegrass music and enjoyed watching UK basketball and baseball.

 

Surviving is his wife of 57 years Judith Sweet Mason of Maysville, Kentucky.

Three sons – Todd (Brooke) Mason of Tollesboro, Ky., Russell Mason and Leonard (Paula) Mason both of Vanceburg, Ky.

One sister- Jenny Garrett – Foster, Kentucky

Three grandchildren- Leonard Mason Jr., Bentley Graham Mason, and Tanner Mason.

Two great-grandchildren Zoey Layne Mason and Zayden Lucas

Half sister Beulah Barr, and Half brother Earl Barr who also will mourn his passing.

 

Preceded in death beside his parents was a grandson- Avery Carter Mason, sisters- Ethel Henderson McCall, Naomi Wills, Ruby Hampton, Geraldine Henderson, Velma Malone, and Jerry Mason. Brothers- Hollis, Lawrence, Otis, and Earl Mason.

 

Private graveside services will be held at the Ebenezer cemetery Lewis County, Kentucky with Brother Charles Hampton officiating.

 

Pallbearers for Shelby Mason will be Jeremy Tulley, Jack McCall, Leonard Mason, Russell Mason, Paul Thayer, and Randy Mason.
