Mrs. Shirlene A. Cooper, Age 79, of Vanceburg, Kentucky passed away with her family by her side Tuesday August 15^th, 2017 at the Vanceburg Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.

Shirlene was born in Floyd County, Kentucky June 29, 1938 to the late Crit and Laura Johnson Hall. Shirlene was a teachers' aid in the Garrison Elementary School. She also was a homemaker and taught Sunday school at the Bivens Chapel Church where she was a member. Most of all she was a Christian. Her hobbies included collecting salt & pepper shakers in which she had over 100 sets. Shirlene loved to read and crochet. She was a member of the Lewis County Homemakers and PTA and of the Senior Citizens.

 

Surviving Shirlene is her husband of 58 years whom she married August 16^th, 1958 in Vanceburg Earl Cooper.

Four daughters- Vicki Boone of Winchester, Ky.; Melody (John) Mathis of Almo, Ky.; Jill (Brian) Lambert of Garrison, Ky.; and Stacy (Brian) Flannery of Oldtown, Ky.

8-grandchildren and 5-great-grandchildren.

Three sisters- Shelby Sanders of Garrison, Ky.; Norma (Bob) Burgess- Milton, West Virginia, and Judy (Earl) Jordan of Dublin, Ohio.

Three brothers- Clyde (Loretta) Hall, Clarence Hall, and Clinton (Penny) Hall all of Garrison, Ky.

 

Preceded in death beside her parents were two brothers- Clifford Hall and Clayton Hall.

Sons-in-law- Steve McVey, Rick Clark, and Jim Boone

Visitation will be Friday August 18^th, 2017 from 5-8 pm and from 8:00am until time of services Saturday at the Gaydos Funeral Home 159 2^nd street Vanceburg, Ky. 41179.

Funeral services will be Saturday August 19^th, 2017 at 1:00 pm at the Funeral Home with Brother Ronnie Conley officiating. Burial will follow in the Skidmore Cemetery Garrison, Ky.

 

Pallbearers for Mrs. Shirlene A. Cooper will be Kevin Sanders, Willie Sowards, Matthew Lambert, Bryson Clark, Aaron Justice, and Richie Kasper.
