Sylvia Aileen White Moore, Age 90, of Vanceburg, KY passed away peacefully at her home with her family by her side Wednesday June 14, 2017 after an extended illness.
Aileen was born in Rowan County Ky August 22, 1926 to the late Ray Lee White and Ethel Hall White Ison.
Aileen and her husband Clyde owned and operated Moore and White Lumber Company which opened in 1958 which they ran the business for 36 years. Aileen was a homemaker, a loving mother and Grandmother, which was a huge part of her legacy. If her family wasn't present in her home, then she was present in theirs. She was a member of the First Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school and was a member of the choir for over 25 years. She was a staunch supporter of the Vanceburg Community and schools, where she supported Lewis County High School band and athletics.
Surviving are her Four Daughters Sharon (George) Plummer, Suzanne Pick, Paula (Jimmy) Lykins, and Beth (Bill Tom) Stone all of Vanceburg, KY
7-Grandchildren Dustin Sparks of Bellevue, KY, Amanda Sparks, Sarah (Blake) Roser, Laura (Adam) Nolen, Nate (Montana) Stone, Natalie Stone, and Landon Stone all of Vanceburg, KY
4-Great Grandchildren Willow Nolen, Thatcher Nolen, Piper Redmond, and Ellis Roser
Step Grandchildren Andy Plummer, Kayla Lykine Thomas, Emily Lykins, Harper Thomas, and Jersey Justice
Many nieces and nephews who will also mourn her passing.
Preceded in death besides her parents was her Husband Clyde Moore, and her siblings Eugene F. White, Harold White, Victor White, Ruth Smith and Becky Carter
Funeral Services will be Saturday June 17, 2017 at 1:00pm at the Vanceburg First Baptist Church in Vanceburg, KY with burial following in the Lewis County Memory Gardens Black Oak, KY.
Friends may call from 5:00pm-9:00pm Friday June 16, 2017 at the Gaydos Funeral Home in Vanceburg, KY and from 8:00am-12:00pm Saturday at the funeral home.
In liu of flowers Donations can be made in memory of Aileen to the Vanceburg First Baptist Church or to the Cirque d'Art Theatre in Portsmouth, Ohio
