Thomas Switzer Obituary
Thomas A. Switzer, Age 70, of Vanceburg, Kentucky passed away unexpectedly Wednesday February 9, 2022 at Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth, Ohio.
Tom was born in Lewis County, Kentucky June 1, 1951 to the late Clarence ‘Coot’ Thomas and Mima Royal Switzer. Tom worked for the U. S. Mail as a courier for 45 years. He also owned and operated Switzer Body Shop for 40 plus years. Tom was a member and Associate pastor at the Argillite Nazarene Church. Tom, loved spending time with his family and adored being with his grandchildren. He was known for his hard work ethics and dedication to his family.
Left to cherish Tom’s memories is his wife of 18 years- Vickie Fearis Switzer of Vanceburg, Kentucky.
Daughters- Sheryl (Tim) Wright of Vanceburg, Kentucky; Tracy (Daniel) Duncan of Foxport, Kentucky.
Sons- Daryl (Francesca) Switzer, and William (Amanda) Switzer both of Vanceburg, Kentucky.
Chris (Katherine) McCall- Edgewood, Kentucky.
Sisters- Thelma (Wayne) King of Nevada, Ohio; Sue Kennedy, Robin (Ray) Polley of Vanceburg, Kentucky, and Donna (Mike) Grayson of Tollesboro, Kentucky.
Brothers- Rick Switzer, and Charles (Debra) Switzer of Vanceburg, Kentucky.
10 grandchildren and 3-great-grandchildren also survive who will mourn his passing.
Preceded in death beside his parents were three sisters- Kathy Rose Wilson, Jane Yates, and Carol ‘Georgi’ Switzer. One brother- James ‘Bubbles’ Switzer.
Funeral services will be Saturday February 12th, 2022 at 1:00 pm at the Gaydos Funeral Home 159 2nd street Vanceburg, Kentucky 41179 with Brothers Lloyd Baldridge and Dave Seals officiating. Burial will follow in Lewis County Memory Gardens Black Oak, Kentucky.
Visitation will be Saturday February 12th, 2022 from 11:00 am until time of services at the funeral home.
Pallbearers for Thomas A. Switzer will be Timmy Wright, Justin Switzer, Derrick Switzer, Hunter Switzer, Daniel Duncan, Chris McCall, and Chester Polley. Honorary pallbearer will be Bryson Duncan.
