Timothy Franklin Bowden, Age 75, of Vanceburg, Kentucky passed away Tuesday January 4th, 2022 with his family by his side at the Hospice of Hope Care Center in Maysville, Kentucky.
Tim was born in Crawford County, Georgia August 29th, 1946 to the late Rufus F. and Dorothy Rigdon Bowden. Tim was very active in the community serving on the Vanceburg City Council, Vanceburg Lions Club, The Electric Plant Board, Adult Literacy Board. Tim was a member of the Vanceburg Christian Church. He retired from GTE/Verizon. Tim, was well known for his BIG WARM hugs and love for his grandkids and family.
He enjoyed many years of retirement, traveling, & spoiling family and grandkids.
Preceded Tim in death beside his parents was his wife Carla Mae Sullivan Bowden March 29, 2008.
Left to cherish Tim’s memories are his daughter- Angela (Chris) Iery of Vanceburg, Ky.
One son- Timothy F. (Beverly) Bowden II of Vanceburg, Ky.
Three Granddaughters- Emily, Makayla Bowden, and Taylor Iery.
Two sisters- Sue (Jerry) Brown- Thomaston, Georgia, Janie Burgamy (Johnny Pierson) of Byron, Georgia.
Special friend Patty Kennard of Vanceburg, Ky.
Step -grandson- Jaden (Stacy) Iery, 3-step-great granddaughters, along with many beloved nieces and nephews who also will mourn his passing.
Funeral services will be held Saturday January 8th, 2022 at 11:00 am at the Vanceburg Christian Church with Pastor Tom Cox Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Lewis County Memory Gardens Black Oak, Ky.
Visitation will be Friday January 7th from 5-8 pm at the Gaydos Funeral Home 159 2nd street Vanceburg, Ky. 41179.
Pallbearers for Timothy F. Bowden will be Chris Brown, Cole Brown, Jonathan Pierson, Corey Bowden, Dalton Combs, Brandon Bryant, Ed Bryant, Billy Bryant, Dalton Ginn, Brett Ruckel, Cameron Ruckel, and Adam Hampton.
