Ms. Vivian Eloise Watson Lykins, Age 93, passed away peacefully Monday January 25th, 2021 surrounded by her family at her daughter’s home.
Vivian was born in Petersville, Kentucky June 14th, 1927 to the late Hubert and Rachel Kegley Watson. Vivian was a homemaker, she worked for U.S. Shoe Corporation here in Vanceburg. She was a self-employed businesswoman who owned and operated Lykins grocery store along with her late husband Donald Lykins for 15 years. Vivian also worked for the 1st National Bank as a teller. Vivian was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Preceded in death beside her parents was her husband of 69 years Donald M. Lykins, daughter-in-law- Sue Lykins, son- in-law- Allen Prater, sister- Geri Dewey, brother- Kenneth Watson, and a grandson- Keith Prater.
Left to cherish Vivian’s memories are two daughters- Sandra (Bill) Blevins of Vanceburg. Debra Prater of Morehead, Ky.
Four sons- Donald (Brenda Sue) Lykins Jr., Roger (Brenda Joyce) Lykins, Richard Lykins, and David T. (Beverly) Lykins all of Vanceburg.
Two sisters- Doris Stamm of Wallingford, Ky., and Alma Gilbert of Vanceburg, Ky.
Three brothers- Frank and Earl Watson of Columbus, Ohio, and Wendell Watson of Clintwood, Virginia.
11- grandchildren, 18-great-grandchildren and one- great-great-grandchild who also will mourn her passing.
Private funeral services will be held Friday January 29th, 2021 at the Gaydos Funeral Home with Dr. Howard Wilson officiating. Entombment will follow at Lewis County Memory Gardens Black Oak, Ky.
Pallbearers for Vivian Eloise Watson Lykins will be Billy Don Blevins, Shane Lykins, Shannon Lykins, Monte Lykins, David Lykins, Tommy Lykins, and Todd Prater.
