Mr. Willie Elmer Lightner, Age 76, of Vanceburg, Kentucky passed away at his home surrounded by his family Sunday June 7, 2020 after an extended illness.

Elmer, known to many as BIG E was born in Maysville, Kentucky July 24, 1943 to the late William (Bill) and Hattie Grayson Lightner.

Elmer worked for the Moore & White Lumber Company in Vanceburg for 25 plus years from which he retired from. Also, worked for various people raising and putting in tobacco.

Left to cherish Elmer’s memories is his wife Kathleen Nolen of Vanceburg, Ky.

Brothers- David Lightner, Donnie (Mary) Lightner both of Vanceburg, Ky.

Jimmy Lightner and Woody Lightner both of Tollesboro, Ky.

Sisters- Diane Bevins and Candy (Stewart) Hamilton both of Vanceburg, Ky.

Preceded Elmer in death beside his parents was two sisters- Dori Fyffe and Mary Ann Hammonds, two brothers- Terry Ray Lightner Jr., and Albert Lightner.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday June 10, 2020 at 12:00 pm at the Lightner Family cemetery Vanceburg, Ky. With Brother Danny Cooley officiating.

Burial will follow.  Gaydos Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements for Mr. Willie Elmer Lightner.
