Wilma (Hardy) Mefford

Wilma Mefford, Age 83, of Vanceburg. Wilma was born in Lewis County, Kentucky on February 20^th, 1938, to the late Henry and Myrtle Goodwin Hardy.  Wilma was a member of the Aills Christian Church.  She loved her family, especially her grandchildren. Wilma enjoyed spending time with her pets and reading in her spare time.   She was a beautician, a homemaker and volunteered her time for school events, Cub Scouts, Church events and the Red Cross blood drives.

Left to cherish Wilma’s memories are two daughters: Melissa (Dean) Ginn of Vanceburg, Ky.; Martha (Larry) Bugg of Lexington, Ky.

One son: Virgil “Henry” Mefford of Vanceburg, Ky.

Granddaughters: Amy (Ryan) Sanders of Napa, California; Sarah (Craig) Calvert of Greenville, South Carolina.

Grandson: Justin Ginn of Vanceburg, Ky.

Many nieces and nephews, along with friends who also will mourn her passing.

Preceded in death beside her parents was her husband Virgil Elden Mefford in 2002, five brothers: Henry Hardy Jr., Ralph Eugene “Gene” Hardy, James Andrew Hardy, William Stewart “Bill” Hardy, and Arthur Joseph “Joe” Hardy.

Visitation will be Sunday June 6^th, 2021, from 5-8 pm and Monday June 7^th, from 8 am until time of services at the Gaydos Funeral Home, 159 2^nd street Vanceburg, Ky. 41179.

Funeral services will be Monday June 7^th, 2021, at 11:00 am at the Gaydos Funeral Home with Brother Kevin Duff officiating.  Burial will follow in the Lewis County Memory Gardens, Black Oak, Ky.
