Wilma D. Shifflett, Age 95, of Vanceburg, Kentucky passed away Thursday April 24, 2025 at Kenton Pointe Hospice of Hope in Maysville, Kentucky.
Wilma was born in Charters, Kentucky October 27, 1929 to the late Hubert and Ida Stevenson McKee. Wilma was a cook for Denny’s Restaurant and Sambo’s Restaurant in Florida. She also worked for Ron’s IGA in Vanceburg in the Deli Department. Wilma taught piano lessons. She loved planting her flowers and tending to them. She was a member of the Heselton Baptist Church. Wilma loved children. Especially taking care of her niece and nephew Katie Martin and Zack McKee whom she helped raised.
Left to cherish Wilma’s memories are nieces- Katie (Connor) Martin of Cincinnati, Ohio; Shirley Fite- Tollesboro, Kentucky, Patty (Justin) Jackson- Avon, Indiana, Sarah (James) Laborde- Danville, Indiana, Kentucky, Linda (Harvey) Maddix, Bridgett Jennings, and Brandi Zornes all of Vanceburg, Kentucky. Jessica (Luke) Morehead, of Morehead, Kentucky.
Nephews- Zack (Anna) McKee of Maysville, Kentucky, Rob (Cindy) McKee, and Greg McKee both of Vanceburg, Kentucky. Several great-nieces and nephews also survive who will mourn her passing.
Preceded in death beside her parents were two sisters- JoAnn Fite, and Ethel Riggs. Brothers- Eugene McKee, Kenneth McKee, and Douglas McKee.
Graveside services for Wilma D. Shifflett will be held Sunday April 27, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at Lewis County Memory Gardens Black Oak, Kentucky with Dr. Howard Wilson officiating.
Memorials may be given to the Heselton Baptist Church % Carolyn Kinney 620 Goodwin Branch Road Vanceburg, Kentucky 41179.
