Betty Jewell Galliher, Age 88, of Vanceburg passed away peacefully with her family by her side in the home of her daughter Mendy Mays May 4, 2015 at 4:40 pm.

 

Betty was born in Ashland, Kentucky March 3, 1927 to the late Alonzo Franklin and Sarah Jane Caudill Blair.

Betty was a homemaker and a loving mother and grandmother. Betty was a member of the First Baptist Church in Vanceburg.

 

Surviving are two daughters-Sarah Elizabeth Galliher of Frankfort, Ky., and Mendy (Ron) Mays of Vanceburg, Ky.

One son- Paul Stephen Galliher of Vanceburg, Ky.

One sister- Dorothy Jones of Midway, Ohio.

3-grandchildren- Jane Michelle (Sam) Che of Olive Branch, Miss., Edna Rene (Steve) Flores of Floral City, Florida, and Blair Mays of Lexington, Ky.

5-great-grandchildren- Pablo and Amelia Flores, Axa, Joshua, and Isell Che.

 

Preceded in death beside her parents was her husband- Paul V. Galliher March 18, 2002, 3-brothers- Bill Blair, Herschel Blair, and Homer Blair. 4-sisters- Margaret Eskew, Virginia Hines, Mildred Crace, and Myrtle Hale.

 

Funeral services will be Thursday at 6:00 pm May 7, 2015 @ the Gaydos Funeral Home 159 2nd street Vanceburg, Ky. 41179 with Dr. Howard Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in the Lewis County Memory Gardens Black Oak, Ky.

 

Friends may call from 4-6 pm Thursday at the Gaydos Funeral Home

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Maysville Hospice of Hope.

So sorry to hear of Mrs. G's passing. She was a sweet and fun-loving lady. Always enjoyed talking with her when she visited the special needs class at school. Peace and prayers are with the family.
